Initially, the share capital consisted of 100,000 ordinary shares, but it was later increased to 500,000 ordinary shares.

Upon its formation, the company's scope of business encompassed a variety of Goods and Services, including Household Goods, Building Materials, Auto Spare Parts, Confessionary Goods, and Liqueur. From its inception to the present day, IBK has consistently held a significant market share in the Auto Parts and Building Material sectors in Nigeria, boasting popular brand names such as IBK Parts and IBK Tiles/Roofing Systems.
